Listen now: The Crookes' Sheffield Is Super playlist

Returning for their eighth Tramlines in July with a slot at the o2 Academy, The Crookes' shows are a festival institution.

As the band head out for a packed week of shows at Austin's legendary SXSW festival, they've put together a playlist of some of their favourite songs by Sheffield artists to help get fans in the mood for the summer. With picks by Slow Club, Blessa, Best Friends and the recently reformed Monkey Swallows The Universe, it's a journey through a wide selection of home-grown, guitar-based talent.

Guitarist Dan Hopewell says:

"It’s kind of hard to go out in Sheffield and not see other bands and musicians. Maybe it’s the world I live in, but everybody seems to be pursuing something creative, encouraging and supporting everybody else along the way. It courses through the city, exploding in strange and eclectic colours. We’ve played festivals all over the world and Tramlines is the only one that matches SXSW for spirit and atmosphere, with music literally spilling out into the streets and consuming the city."
